  • Even though all four individual pieces have their own title, I felt compelled to also title the series. This project was a difficult one as it spanned over two years and I had to take the overall concept into mind while designing the individual pieces. A great deal of thought went into which members to do in which era and the subsequent title. That conversation is a long one, too long to outline here, so if you ever attend a show or a meet and greet, I would happy to divulge. As for the letters, I purposely tried to make them unassuming so one could display a favorite band member and not necessarily have it look out of place without the remaining pieces of the series. The letters are also purposely done in different fonts, placement and sizes. After all, if you’re going to spell CRUE, it needs to have a sense of chaos. The lyric for the title was chosen off their farewell song All Bad Things and reminded me of the final song of their farewell tour when playing a photo montage while performing Home Sweet Home, one couldn’t find a dry eye in the arena.
