As I said in the past, in my opinion Slash is the embodiment of rock n' roll. The look, the sound, the attitude - Slash checks all the boxes when it comes to being a rockstar. I had painted Slash a few years back and hadn’t planned on revisiting him so soon, however, I was presented with the opportunity to attend and display some of my Gun N Roses inspired art at a fan club pre-show party prior to a GNR concert. After agreeing to participate, I made the decision to compose a new piece that could be unveiled at the party alongside my previous GNR pieces on display.

This piece originally had both Slash and Axl together, but after many attempts to get the concept right, it just wasn’t working – I couldn’t get these two to coexist on the same canvas.
