Lava Lounge by Michael Godard
I wanted to make a retro piece, with really big lava lamps. At an art show in Key West, Elly was dressed as a kitty and everyone was calling her Miss Kitty. I lengthened the legs and made them really really sexy.
I made the symbols on the floor in the style of Austin Powers. I am wearing an Italian born suit—the attire of the day—and I’m checking out my wife. The night before, I watched the world championship of bartending and was amazed at the way they made these drinks, throwing the bottles and glasses around, so I thought I’d add a bar with a bottle-twirling bartender. ~M.G
